There are many reasons that collectors choose art. The reasons could be that they connect with the piece on a personal level, or even merely as an investment. As an Artist I wonder, what is it that people see when they look at my art. Why do they buy what they buy?
If it as an emotional purchase or as an investment the answers include:
Who is the artist? How significant is the art? Is the asking price fair?
My collectors are varied, from all over the world and collect, what seems to me collect purely on emotion. What this means for me, is to continually develop as an artist.
